5 Things to know about Office 2007

Live Preview-New to Office 2007 this feature dynamically changes the screen so you can see the results of a change before it is final. Highlight some text and using your mouse, and hover over different font sizes to see an example.

Menu options are contextual and display only as needed. To activate options for charts, tables, and pictures click on the item and additional menu options are displayed.

The Office button, new to office 2007, and located in the upper left-hand corner of the application it contains many menu items previously included in the File Menu including options. Options include items such as AutoCorrect, Auto Recover, and Customization of the Quick Access Toolbar.

Quick Access Toolbar--new to Office 2007 and located in the upper left hand corner of the Office 2007 applications, it can be customized to include options for printing, spell-check, file management (open and new) as well as other commands used frequently.


Ribbon—The new interface in Office 2007 display the commands that are most relevant for each of the task areas in the applications Your most common options, bullets, fonts, font size, bold, etc. are found in the home tab.
