Product spotlight -- Noodlebib

Noodlebib is a tool that allows you to create MLA, APA or Chicago style bibliographies online. Although many students have used this for their Works Cited pages there is an overlooked feature that can help you organize your research called notecards. The online notecard feature allows you to take notes as you go. You can then link the notecard to the specific resource where you found the information. This makes the process of paraphrasing and citing sources much easier, because the notecard feature takes the guesswork out of what source was used. You will need to:

• Connect to the library home page
• Select Noodlebib from the menu on the left hand side

This will bring you to our list of Electronic Databases and Resources selected specifically to assist you with your research.

• Select Noodlebib from this list


• Login with your Personal ID and password or
• Fill in the form presented as needed

The library staff suggests you use your MCC A# and Blackboard password.

Note: It is easier to create a source list as you go. One of the most difficult aspects of creating a works cited page is identifying the source of the information. (Is it a book, journal, essay, web site, etc. ?) When the item is in front of you it it much easier to tell.

  Notecards allow you to take notes as you research and link them directly to their source. Clusters can be created for each subtopic (paragrah) and cards for each source used. Clusters are an excellent way to organize your paper .
